Trouble shooting tips

I can't get into my classroom...

Please check the tips listed below. If you still can't access your class after working through these trouble shooting tips, please contact us.

  1. You supplied us with a classroom username and password when you created your LVS Account. Log in to your LVS Account with the email address and password that you supplied when you created your LVS Account.

    NOTE: If you forgot your LVS Account password, click on the "Forgot Password" link and the server will send you a new one. Use this server generated password to access your LVS Account only!

    Once signed in, click on the "View or change my account information" link and verify that you're using the correct username and password.

    NOTE: Changes in classroom username and/or password AFTER a registration is sumbitted will take effect the NEXT TIME you register for a class.

  2. Usernames and passwords are case sensitive so if you used a combination of upper and lower case letters be sure to type them exactly as you did when you registered.

  3. If using a password manager, clear the fields and retype as there may be a typo that you can't see.

  4. Be sure that you are clicking on the correct link to your classroom. Sometimes people forget and try to access a classroom from the previous session or click on a different level.

  5. Don't use a bookmark from a previous session as the classroom list changes each session. Follow the Classrooms link on the left side of all the LVS pages.

    NOTE:   Be sure the correct session months are displayed in the colored header at the top of the page. If you are looking for the previous session or the current session, whichever the case may be, click on the link inside the dashed box.

  6. Spaces and dashes are not allowed in usernames or passwords. If yours contain either, please change it by going into your LVS Account outlined in step 1. Then contact us so we can make the change in your classroom profile.

  7. AOL users will occasionally have problems seeing the log-in screen when they click on the link to their classroom. If this happens to you, lower your security level and try again.

  8. Registrations are processed manually. If you register after classrooms are already open you may not have access to your class right away, especially if you register during off hours. Allow 24 hours before writing to us.

  9. If you registered to pay by check or money order, remember that your payment must reach us before you have classroom access.

  10. Instructor-led classes have specific start dates. Please follow the "Important Classroom Information" link in your registration confirmation for details.


Links don't work for me

  • In the Classrooms:

    If it's time for the new lessons to be posted but you don't see active links, it's very likely that your browser is caching an older version of the page.

    • IE Users - Click the Refresh button in your browser while at the same time holding the Ctrl key down.

    • Netscape Users - Click the Reload button in your browser while at the same time holding the Shift key down.

    This forces your browser to get the latest/newest version of the page from the server. If you still don't see the links as active, write to us and we'll check to see what else might be going wrong.


Forbidden 403 Error


If you're getting a "Forbidden 403" error when you try to register: Some versions of the AOL browser have a problem with the secure server so AOL users will sometimes get a 403 - Forbidden error when trying to register. I'm afraid we don't know how to fix it at this time. We believe it is related to security so perhaps changing a security setting in your AOL browser will correct the problem. If an AOL user knows how to do this we would really appreciate it if you could drop us a line giving us details so that we can let others know.   :)   In the meantime there are a couple of suggestions below.

  • Open another browser - Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera - and go to the registration pages using that. You should not have any problems registering when you use a non AOL browser.

  • Use the non-secure form located here:

Error on email links


Some AOL users have reported problems with the cloaking system we use to hide email addresses on this site from spammers. If this happens to you please contact us.
