Is it safe to use my credit card online?

Yes. We encrypt all of your personal information, including your credit card number, when it is sent over the Internet using SSL (secure socket layer) technology. When your browser is in secure mode an unbroken key or lock icon will appear at the bottom right corner of the window. This indicates that the transaction is secure. Once the credit card transaction is processed, the credit card information is removed from the server.

When will my credit card be charged?

Credit cards for instructor-led classes are processed a week or two before the session begins. When supplying your credit card expiration date, please take the transaction date into consideration.

Credit cards for self-study classes are processed immediately. Students have access to the classroom as soon as the registration and credit card transaction is processed.

How do I register for classes?

  1. Click on the Registration link found on the LVS navigation menu. You will be taken the Registration site's main page.

    Note: Your browser must be set to accept cookies to use the secure form.

  2. If you have not created an account, click on the My Account link and do so now. Follow the instructions under the Create Account section.

    If you already created your LVS Account, click on the My Account link and sign in.

  3. Once signed into your LVS Account, click a course topic in the Available Courses list on the left.

  4. Click on a course name to read the course description and prerequisites.

  5. Click on the Add to Registration button at the bottom of the page.

  6. When finished selecting courses to add to your registration, click on the Register button. This will take you to the secure area of the registration form where you will enter your payment options

  7. When you reach the Enrollment Confirmation page, be sure to click on the Confirm Registration button! You will then see the Success page and a registration confirmation will automatically be sent to your email address.

Be sure to visit the Class Information page for important class information. The link is provided on the Success page as well as in your registration confirmation.

How do I access my registration account?

  1. Click on the "My Account" link in the left side navigation menu.
  2. In the Log In section on that page, enter the email address¹ and password² that you provided when you created your account.
  3. If you don't recall your account password, click on the "Forgot Password" link below the password field.
  4. Check your email inbox. A temporary password to access your account will be sent to you automatically from the server - it is the 4 characters listed AFTER your IP address. It will look something like this:

  5. Once signed in, you may then change your account password back to something you can easily remember. The links to view/edit your account information will appear on the "My Account Information" page.
NOTE¹: If you don't remember your email address - contact LVS and provide your first and last name. We will look up your email address in the database. Do not create a new account with a new email address as the system will not recognize you as a returning student.
NOTE²: LVS does not have access to your account password.

How do I remove a course from my registration?

Before the registration is finished, check the Remove box next to the course name that you want to delete then click on the Update button.

Once the registration is submitted, no changes can be made. You must submit a new registration and enter "cancel registration #xxxx" in the comments section.

Why won't the registration system accept my registration?

This is a new registration system as of the September 2004 session. All new and returning students must create an account before the registration will be accepted. To create an account, click on the "My Account" link and follow the instructions on the left under "Create Account" section.

How do I set up an LVS Account?

This is a new registration system as of September 2004. All students must create an account before the registration will be accepted. This system will keep track of your enrollment history, email and mailing addresses, and your chosen classroom username and password.

To create an account, click on the My Account link. Follow the instructions in the Create Account section.

TIP: you may want to use the same password for your classroom access as you do for your LVS Account access.

Returning students from previous session who are just setting up your new account, please remember to contact us before you register so that we can set the system up to recognize you and ensure that you get the returning student rates.

Jot down your LVS Account email address and password as you will need them for future registrations and to log into your account. If your email address changes, do not create a new account! Simply sign into your LVS Account and change your email address there.

Be sure to jot down your classroom username and password that you chose during the Create Account process. You will need those to access your classrooms. You may log into your LVS Account at anytime to verify your chosen classroom username and password.

Once you've created your account the server will send you a welcome message and you'll be able to complete your registration.

NOTE¹: If you already created an account in the new system, but can't remember the email address you used, do not create a new account as the system will not recognize you. contact us and we will advise you of the email address you used to create your registration account.

I'm a returning student but do not have an LVS Account yet. What do I do?

First create an LVS Account then contact us to let us know that you are a returning student and just created your LVS Account. We will verify the records in the database and edit your account to reflect Returning Student status. We will then send you an email that your account is edited and you may register for classes as a returning student.

How do I find out when registration opens?

To receive email notification when registration opens, enter your email address in the form area near the bottom right hand corner of this page and click the words "Subscribe to mailing list".

Registration information is also posted on the LVS Home page and the Registration Main page.

Why don't I see my class I registered for listed on the Classrooms page?

If you registered for a new class or one that did not run in the previous session, then it won't be listed on the Classrooms page until the new session begins. Look at the top of the Classrooms page to see which session of classes are currently listed. Check the start dates on your registration confirmation and on the Classroom Information page and check in then!

How do I view my registration history?

Log in to your LVS Account as outlined above. Once on the "Account Information" page, click on the link in the "Previous Course Registrations section".

Please note: This is a new registration system as of the September 2004 session. Previous registered courses will not appear in your online registration history. The old registration history is retained in the LVS database if needed.

Why didn't I receive my registration confirmation?

  1. You may not have completed the registration process. To verify, log into your LVS Account and look on the right side. If your class appears in the "Selected Courses" section, then you need to finish the registration. Click on the "Complete Registration" link directly above. Once finished, you will receive a "Success" page and the registration confirmation will automatically be sent to your email address on file.

  2. Many e-mail services and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have blocking or filtering systems in place to protect you from unsolicited e-mail. However, these same systems may inadvertently block e-mail you have requested from LVS.

    To ensure that you receive all LVS communication, be sure you add LVS to your allowed senders list.

    If you have a Spam Blocker or are an AOL user, add registeratlvsassociates.com (change the word at to the @ symbol) to your allowed senders list or you will not receive your email confirmation.

  3. You may have a typo in the email address you entered. Please contact us and we will check the email address you provided when you created your LVS account.

IMPORTANT!: If you are expecting an email response from LVS and use spam software or verification email software, please make sure that LVS is in your allowed senders list. We receive hundreds of messages daily and don't have time to authorize ourselves to people who write to an LVS address expecting a reply. We expect that they will make sure that they can receive messages from us.

I'm getting a "Forbidden 403" error when I try to register.

Some versions of the AOL browser have a problem with the secure server so AOL users will sometimes get a 403 - Forbidden error when trying to register. I'm afraid we don't know how to fix it at this time. We believe it is related to security so perhaps changing a security setting in your AOL browser will correct the problem. If an AOL user knows how to do this we would really appreciate it if you could drop us a line giving us details so that we can let others know.   :)   In the meantime there are a couple of suggestions below:

  • Open another browser - Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera - and go to the registration pages using that. You should not have any problems registering when you use a non AOL browser.

  • Use the non-secure form located here:
