How do the instructor-led classes work?

Once the session begins, you will access your classroom(s) by clicking on the Classrooms link in the left navigational menu. Once on the Classrooms page, locate your classroom(s) and click on the link. You will be prompted for your classroom username and password that you provided when you created your LVS Account. If you forgot your classroom username and/or password, follow the instructions here.

Once the six week session begins, the weekly lessons will be posted in the classroom each Saturday unless otherwise stated in the classroom. After studying the lesson, students are encouraged to ask questions or make comments on the class message board. After completing the week's assignment, students post their work to a web site, student upload area, or via email for viewing by the instructor and fellow students. Assignments are usually due the following Friday.

Once the session begins, you can access each posted lesson anytime, day or night. LVS Online Courses are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Each student will receive comments and feedback from their instructor and questions will be answered as quickly as possible. If you are a certificate student, it is necessary for you to complete the class successfully to be eligible to receive the certificate of completion.

We also encourage the students to help each other. This can be through message board conversations, email correspondence, or by forming study groups. If students want to form study groups, we can help you with that!

How do self-study classes work?

Self-study classes can be joined at any time unless otherwise noted. You will have access as soon as your registration¹ is processed unless that course is just going into self-study. In that case, the start date will be specified on the registration form and in your registration confirmation.

Due to all lessons being available at once, self-study classes are not eligible for refunds or transfers.

Due to no instructor support, Certificates of Completion are not available for self-study classes.

For a complete list of self-study classes, go to the main Registration page and click on the Self-Study link found in the Available Courses section.

¹Registrations are processed manually and you will be notified when you have access to the self-study classroom.

You will access your classroom(s) by clicking on the Classrooms link in the left navigational menu. Once on the Classrooms page, locate your self-study classroom(s) and click on the link. Can I receive a Certificate of Completion?

Certificates of Completion are available for all instructor-led classes. Certificates must be requested at the time of registration or at least before the second lesson is posted. Instructors monitor the participation of students requesting a certificate.

The student must successfully complete the class to be eligible for the certificate. For more information, go to the Class Certificates page.

How do I access my classroom?

1. If enrolled in an instructor-led classroom, make sure the classrooms are opened. Check the "Class Information" link provided in your registration confirmation, or view the School Calendar.
   
   
2. Click on the Classrooms link in the left navigation menu on the main LVS site.
   
   
3. If enrolled in an instructor-led classroom, be sure that you see the session you registered for in the green header. The session is also noted in the instructor-led section. NOTE: If you are looking for the previous session classrooms, click on the link at the top of the page.
   
   
4. Locate the name of your class in the list and click on it.
   
   
5. You will be prompted for the classroom username and password that you provided when you created your LVS Account. Enter those exactly as supplied as they are case sensitive.

How do I use the classroom message board?

Each classroom has it's own message board to interact with the instructor and fellow students. You will find the link to the classroom message board at the top and bottom of the classroom page. If you need help finding your way around on the message board or setting preferences, go to the Message Board Tips page.

When does my class start?

All instructor-led courses that are open for enrollment will begin at the same time unless otherwise noted. Your registration confirmation contains specific details...be sure to read it! Important information, including start dates are provided on the Classroom Information page...that link is provided on the Success page of the registration process and in your registration confirmation. The start dates are also listed on the LVS Home page and the Registration Home page, and FAQ, and the School Calendar. Registered students will be sent an email from the LVS mailing list when classrooms open and another email when the first lesson is posted. Be sure you can receive email from lvsonline.com and lvsassociates.com

Self-study classes can be joined at any time unless otherwise stated in the course description.

When will I have access to my classroom?

• If you registered and paid before the classrooms open, you will have access on the specified day that the classrooms open. (Check your registration confirmation, or Classroom Information page, or LVS Home page, or Registration Home page for specific dates). A reminder is sent out to all registered students when classrooms open.
  
  
• If you registered after the classrooms opened, please allow 24 hours for your registration be processed. You will be notified when you have access to your classroom(s).
  
  
• If paying by check or money order and your payment did not arrive prior to the classroom open date, you will have access as soon as it arrives. You will be notified when access is granted.
